Series: Transitional Seam
Artist Statement
Transition: Moving from one state or condition to another state or condition
Seam: The place between to pieces and may hold the two pieces together
Transitional Seam: that area which is in the middle of a transition
The western edge of the Inland Empire, the local name for Riverside County, borders Orange and San Diego County. The I-15
Freeway runs down the center of this region. It is a seam between the real Inland Empire and the Southern California 'Gold
Coast', which are the beach counties of Orange and San Diego County that lay adjacent to the Pacific Ocean.
There are many changes occurring in this region and it is an area in transition.
The suggestion of evolving change with the potential loss of identity in conjunction with the essence of the region are some of
what I am exploring with this series.
